New Yorkers talking about their faces

Photographer Simon Hoegsberg has done a series of photographs in which he asks various New Yorkers to talk about their faces. Not only has he found a some really compelling looking people, they all have a particularly hyper-articulate way of viewing themselves.

Dancing in Detroit

Techno was invented in Detroit, apparently because people just wanted to dance like maniacs. In the early 90s there was this show on Detroit TV called The New Dance Show. The concept was simple: two lines of people queued up around a central catwalk, and then took their turn to strut their best moves as they shook their way back past the lines. The dancing needs to be seen to be believed. And the music was just as brilliant.
